Leadline allows you to post jobs directly to your company's Indeed account.
With this integration enabled, job-seekers can search & discover jobs through the Indeed search experience, but are re-directed to a Leadline-powered experience when they start an application.
There are two significant benefits with this setup;
- Your company gets total control over your candidate's application experience
- Your company gets to centralize your candidate data in one spot (Leadline), instead of having candidate data in multiple places (Indeed, LinkedIn, an email inbox, an Excel spreadsheet, etc.)
Pre-requisites
To connect Leadline to your company's Indeed account, you will need to contact Indeed and submit a request as mandated by Indeed's documentation.
For the fastest results, please ensure the following pre-requisites have been met:
- Your company must have an existing Indeed for Employers account. If you do not have an account, you can create an employer account in just a few minutes.
- You must setup a job feed in Leadline. To do this, head over to your Advertise > Job Feeder settings and click 'Get Started' on the option for Indeed.
- (Recommended) You have installed Leadline's Website Widget on your Careers page. Indeed may require additional "proof" that the jobs received from Leadline are in-fact jobs you are hiring for. Contacting Indeed to setup your integration
When contacting Indeed, here is a suggested message to include in the 'description' field on Indeed's submit a request form:
Hi - I would like to connect my applicant tracking system, Leadline, to my Indeed employer account. I would like to connect Leadline to my Indeed employer account using an XML feed. The XML feed URL can be found here:
[replace this with your XML Feed URL from Leadline]
Copy the above message into the description field of the Indeed request form
Finding your XML Feed URL in Leadline
- Head over to your Advertise > Job Feeder settings
- Under the Indeed option, click 'Actions' --> 'View XML Feed URL'
- Copy the URL shown (click the URL to quickly copy to clipboard)
- Paste the above URL into your request to Indeed
Indeed should e-mail you a confirmation message once they have successfully configured your employer account to point to the job feed from Leadline!
Frequently Asked Questions
"How does the Indeed job feed work?"
A job feed hosts all your active jobs, like a 'source of truth'. Every so often, Indeed will 'crawl' the feed to pull the latest job data into Indeed.
Every few hours, Leadline writes updates to this file based on your team's usage of Leadline. In parallel, every few hours Indeed 'crawls' this file. This is how Leadline communicates new jobs or updates to existing jobs to Indeed.
In Leadline, you can see when these 'sync' activities happen by clicking on 'View activity log' option (the same place you found your XML Feed URL).
"How long until my job posting in Leadline shows up on my Indeed page?"
Indeed syncs job data from Leadline every 6 hours (4x per day). This is a limitation imposed by Indeed on all Applicant Tracking Systems partners, including Leadline. Please allow up to 12 hours before the listing displays on Indeed.
"What if I use Indeed's sponsored job listings - can I continue to use those?"
Yes, Leadline does not replace your existing contract relationship with Indeed. Jobs synced from Leadline > Indeed are available in your Indeed dashboard if you would like to add some budget to those jobs/campaigns.
"Can I control which jobs are posted to Indeed?"
Currently, all positions in a 'published' state are added to the job feed. If you believe there is a reason certain jobs should not be listed on the feed, please contact your Leadline customer success manager.
